I think lots of couples do this though? Not sure why, As you say, it’s letting your guard down, to do with closeness and not having to be grown-up all the time. It’s fun to be cute!

It figures that I can't find the reference now that I could use it, but I remember reading/seeing more than one study about this exact phenomenon. In all the cases I can remember (about or three if memory serves), the researchers' conclusions were that this kind of behavior engendered feelings of protectiveness and nurturing on the part of the partners, thus facilitating emotional bonding. According to these studies, youngness is also perceived as sexually attractive.

I guess this is all logical. Really though, I think it's just fun.

I totally recognise this kind of interchange, my partner and I have a bit of a reputation (amongst those who don't know us very well) for being a bit stern and serious, so they get a bit freaked when we forget ourselves and become cute bouncy bunnies in public.

In general, I'm glad the cuteness translates. Because weird. But fun. But weird.

Maria, Rona, Maja, I miss you all terribly.

Wendy, that is a potentially brilliant idea, except I've never drawn a chibi. I'll see what I can do.

Maja, um, I vote no on the skin removal?

I think you need to illustrate these chibi-emo emotions of May, because it would be even more adorable then this post alone.

I have never even met you two, yet this interaction doesn't surprise me at all! I am glad that you are still in love even after the stress of changing continents.

Chibi emo indignation

Finally, chibi emo resolution. And now the Tao is once again balanced.

::Tom can't believe that he actually found this cute, let alone understood the entire exchange::
