Currently I’m on a Rammstein kick, and while I don’t understand the language, the videos are amazing. I’m not sure how I feel about a group that calls themselves the Genitorturers, but I will check it out. Thanks!

Yes. Sheer desperation. I remember hearing the song for the first time and just…stopping, as though I couldn’t go on until I’d heard it through to the end.

The Book of Love is a lovely song, but I’m not sure how it’s kinky? But one of my favorites. At some point I will write about singing it in Paddles.

Oh, Leonard Cohen. I saw him at Glastonbury this year and it was one of the most amazing gigs I’ve ever seen. (And the man himself has still got it, even if he is pushing 80.)

There are some Pulp songs as well which – hm. I’m not entirely sure whether they’re overtly kinky, or whether it’s just Jarvis’ voice, & the air of shiver-up-spine-wrong that permeates them, that does it.

I’m Your Man is the most perfect song ever written. I love the lyrics, and yet it disturbs me slightly that I love them, they are so overwrought (and so perfectly chosen). There’s something about the sheer desperation that turns me inside out.
